casey + alyssa

I went to Casey + Alyssa's Wedding in Oakhurst. It's a super teenie tiny town located 10-15 miles from Yosemite. Casey and Cookie grew up and went to High School in Oakhurst.
Here are the napkins:
They made really cute fans. On one side there was the names of the wedding party and family and the other side was a history/timeline of how Casey and Alyssa met. It was a creative thing to do and it was sooooo hot so it was everyone was waving them against their sweaty faces during the ceremony.
Here is Casey walking Rick down the aisle. Rick is Lauren and Casey's youth pastor. He is a really great guy and is almost like a second dad for Cookie.

Here are the bridesmaids: Cookie, Marijke & Allyse (not shown: Alyssa's 2 sisters)
The ceremony was beautiful. I thought the bridesmaids dresses were funky and cool. The colors worked nicely together. The venue was really amazing because they faced a lake with swans and they were surrounded by trees/nature.
Still sort of freaks me out that they are only 22.
Alyssa's dress was absolutely adorable. She is the cutest little girl in the world. The dress seemed very vintage with its empire waist, poofy skirt and buttons lining the backside.
Here they are, Mr. and Mrs. Lucas
Married and Happy.

The table settings...
Personalized wine labels...
Unfortunately we only got 2 bottles of wine for the entire night, and we accidently opened them before dinner without realizing...

Joey is an old man and I like him for that.
The flower arrangements on the tables:

The food was....alright. I feel funny when I say that at my wedding I'm splurging on food. I'm a foodie and enjoy good food. Also, twill be funny if my dad ever reads this...

my birth

Tonight my Dad went through a huge baggie of old photos. These are the gems he picked out...

Look how skinny my Dad was!!! ridiculous!

This polaroid was shot on my Nana's birthday, the day before I was born. Check out my Mom's outfit!!!! So legit! She said he used to go to this fitness class for pregnant women and the place would photograph a few days before they were due...

Then I was born. Apparently all the belly weight my Mom lost after giving birth went straight to my Dad's face. I mean this in the kindest way possible.

Then I came home in a moses basket.

and slept like this.

new retainers & the discovery of it's-it

I had to get new retainers because my top one broke and my bottom one wasn't really stopping my teeth from shifting around. Here is the mold of my teeth.
hhhheeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
up close and personal.
look at my wrinkly gums on my alveolars!

I just recently discovered it's-it ice cream sandwiches. They are so very tasty, two oatmeal cookies sandwiches between some soft ice cream and then dipped in dark chocolate! I've only had the mint flavor but we have a box of vanilla that I will dig into tomorrow. I won't lie I'm a total sucker for packaging and the vintage look really caught my eye.

the fifth of august

Step 1) listen to this song.

Step 2) Then play the game: one of these things is not like the other things.

I thought it would be funny to apply to be a "cocktail waitress" at Saloon 101. So I responded to the Craigslist ad....good thing I wrote Salon and not Saloon. whoops. They never got back with me.

I don't want to steal Lana's thunder but I decided to scan in some of my favorite interior spaces, brought to you by numerous Anthropologie catalogs...

I went to Beacon's on Monday by myself and did alot of reflecting.
I went to Grandview on Tuesday with Kevin which was so great to catch up.
I went to Beacon's today by myself and did some relaxing.
and tomorrow I'm going to the beach with Erin.
Here are some great photos of Beacons taken this summer:

look at his little head!
surfer brah.
kens & sars.

this photo screams sarah! especially the last frame, HA!

It's so strange with everyone out of the house. It's too quiet. Rory is camping, thus none of his friends are here. Demetrio left yesterday to head back to school to be an R.A., thus I no longer have my little brother bear. Lana moved to P.B., thus I have no roomie/bedsharer. It's all very strange to go from a house of 6+ to a house of 3 in one sad day.

I leave you with this beautiful video by the one and only Andrew Bird.

wow, what a sight for sore eyes.
