musee de l'orangerie

Today Greg and I went to Musee de l'Orangerie, with so many museums in Paris I think this one is my favorite thus far. 

You enter this oval shaped room with panoramic views of Monet's les nympheas, his famous water lilies. 

Seeing it in real life is really breath taking. 

So elegant and fluid.

Another great aspect to this museum is that they ask you to be very quiet in the oval space, view the paintings in silence, reflect and take it all in. 

Simply wonderful.

The murals are so much larger than I had originally anticipated.

palais de tokyo

Palais de Tokyo is one of many modern art museums in Paris. I went during my afternoon break between shifts, but the entire space was closed for renovation/changing of expos. This is what the outside looks like, and yes, that neon water actually smelled like urine:

Galerie Patrick Seguin. Behind this door is a magical place full of 20th century furniture + architecture, it features work by Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret, amoung others.

museo thyssen

Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza offers art from 13th century to 20th century. It's a fine museum and I don't know why it doesn't get as much hype as Museo del Prado or la Reina Sofia.
