google @ Gare de l'Est + livre d'Eli

Tonight I had to take Clemence and Diane to the Gare de l'Est train station because they were going to their cousins house in Troyes for the weekend. When I picked up Diane from school on Friday afternoon we had a very confusing conversation.

Kendra: "So are you excited to see your cousins this weekend?"

Diane: "Yes."

Kendra: "That's cool, where do they live?"

Diane: "Troyes."

Kendra: "No, I didn't ask when you are going, I asked where..."

Diane: "We are going to Troyes."

Kendra: "No, no, Diane, where, not when"

Diane: "I just told you, we are going to Troyes."

Kendra: "I'm confused."

Diane: "What is there to be confused about, I'm going to Troyes, that's where my cousins live..."

Kendra: "I'll ask your sister when I get home."

Turns out Troyes and trois (the number 3) have the same pronunciation. Gotta love French. It felt like a 'Who's on first, What's on second, I Don't Know's on third' scenario.

The Gare de l'Est is located in the 10eme arrondissement. We had to take two different metro lines to get there and it was a little stressful but we made it there with 30 minutes to kill. In most metro stations there are advertisements for Google Chrome, which I find a bit weird. Probably because I never see ads for Google back home. There were HUGE ads in the train station:

After I put the girls on the train I met up with Julie for some sushi and a movie. We saw le livre d'Eli (the Book of Eli). It was pretty good considering I had no idea what it was about, although at times I felt like I was watching The Road....
