weekly schedule

This is my weekly schedule. I work 35 hours a week, go to class 6 hours a week. But I start late on Mondays, I have breaks during the day, I get off at 8:30 (unless the family needs me to babysit, in which case I get off at 10/11 p.m.), and I have weekends completely free.
Monday/Tuesday:
Wednesday/Thursday/Friday:

  • Mondays are really easy because I only work 4:15-8:30
  • Tuesdays are tricky because I have to DRIVE Aude to ice skating....I will definitely write a post about driving here in Paris....
  • Wednesdays are my longest day 11:45 -8:30 but they are so fun because the children do not have class in the afternoon so get to play and hang out for a few hours before sports/homework
  • Thursdays are exactly like Mondays, the only different is that I have class in the morning
  • Fridays are nice because the children do not have to shower or do homework! Every child's dream day.
  • If you notice I get to scooter a lot. Almost all French children ride razor scooters and it is common to see mothers/nannies riding them as well to/from school. I am unbelievably great at razor scootering now. I am getting to know the route really well so I know where the pot holes are, where the cobblestone is a little too intense, which curbs I can successfully jump and which I cannot. It's really quite great.
  • You will also notice a thing called goûter (snack). We usually take it around 5ish and it consists of warm baguette that we buy from the corner boulangerie (bakery), chocolat chaud (hot chocolate) or cookies, crêpes and pancakes. It's my favorite time of the day.
  • D = Diane (8 year old)
  • A = Aude (12 year old)
  • C = Clemence (14 year old)
  • T = Tes, the Filipino lady that cooks and cleans the house. She has been with the family for 10 years. I love Tes she is very helpful, although somewhat timid at times she is the sweetest lady in the world.
