omnivore's dilemma

I just finished this book. It describes the politics, perils and pleasures of eating. He traces four meals back to their origin. It's very eye-opening. It's crazy to think how many miles our food travels to reach our dinner table. It's also pretty crazy how the American agricultural system works. If you are interested in these sort of things, I recommend this book.

  1. I know you're probs over this genre after reading this and might need a switch - buuuuut, if you ever want to read more, check out "Eating Animals" by Jonathan Safran Foer, its fantastic.

  2. haha funny you should mention that...Rory bought my that for Christmas (it was the first year I specifically asked for something from him) and I gave him weeks of notice and then the book came a few days after I left for Paris. So it is waiting for me when I come back! When did you read the book?
